Anthem Senior Manor is a world apart from the last place that our mother lived. We love the staff! They really care and you can certainly tell. The environment is simply amazing. The food and activities are out of this world. We are so glad that we were able to find this amazing place for our mother to live.
When my brother’s care plan suddenly changed and I was faced with finding him a new facility to meet his expanding medical needs, I was worried I wouldn’t find him just the right fit, one that could meet his needs but still be a home environment where he’d be comfortable, well cared for and safe. Anthem Senior Manor was one of the facilities that came highly recommended. It was very important that I could keep his primary care, Jana, and I would be able to do that here. I called and scheduled a visit. I was impressed the minute I stepped through the front door. I was met with a welcoming, bustling home, greeted by friendly caregivers and happy residents participating in a variety of activities. I talked with Sam Ile, the owner, who was open, honest and answered all my questions. He didn’t bat an eye at my brother’s needs and even suggested he would furnish his room with a hospital bed that would enable my brother’s participation in his mobility and a sense of independence. I met Tracey (the manager) Carlos (the asst. manager) and the three caregivers working that day. I was immediately struck by how welcoming, friendly and family oriented everyone was. There was a lot going on, everyone was busy working (separately and together) getting things done and making sure everyone was having their needs met. Since my brother’s move to Anthem Senior Manor (I thank my lucky stars that they had one bedroom open) I cannot thank Sam, Tracey, Carlos and the wonderful caregivers for their exceptional care and welcoming John into the family. I always know how he’s doing and what he’s been up to. They have all gone above and beyond my expectations. They have made every effort to get to know him and participate in his ever changing medical needs. The communication lines are always open and that’s very important, especially where a loved one is concerned. I feel so fortunate that John has found his home at Anthem Senior Manor. He’s happy, participating in activities and is surrounded by truly caring people who have his best interests in mind.
The chaos that has become our life stopped after stepping into Anthem Senior Manor and meeting Sam, the owner. I was also welcomed immediately by managers Carlos and Tracey. Both of my parents were living in Washington and after numerous health emergencies, enough was enough, I needed and wanted them closer. My mother suffers from Alzheimer’s, frightening for the person as well as the family. My father has many health issues including dementia. From the first day he was placed in ASM, I never questioned my decision. I instantly felt the love, comfort, and reassurance from Sam that my dad was in good hands. Sam expressed several times I could always reach out with questions and concerns, and he would be there. Good to his word, he has been. I can’t sugar coat my dad’s personality. He is strong willed, quick to anger, and stubborn. Giving up your independence and moving into a home with others is a big deal. Despite his many flareups, the caregivers have always treated him with respect. My dad arrived with his prior caregiver from Washington at deaths door. Jana, the houses NP, quickly, efficiently, and professionally diagnosed and ran tests to get his health stabilized. I have never met any medical professional more on top of geriatric medicine than Jana. She is persistent and never gives up. Tracey and Carlos are always working behind the scenes making sure everyone receives the best care possible. Tracey and Carlos are always working behind the scenes making sure everyone receives the best care possible. After getting my dad settled my mom arrived, moving her from another care facility having finally settled in her previous home, I was worried she would have a hard time adjusting to the move. You see my mom is an only child that went from college to marriage never living alone. Her Alzheimer’s is very advanced to the point she was forgetting who my dad was. It was hard to be patient waiting for another room to open at ASM. My parents have been married for 66 years and are now reunited living under the same roof at ASM. They have been together for a month now. The house sends pictures showing me the activities my mom is involved in. She is not one to sit still and likes to be involved, which can be taxing on anyone, but the skilled caregivers pick up on those cues and redirect and focus her attention on other things. A cute story, once she was having a bad day when my dad was out of the house. Carlos put her in the car to run errands and played music from her generation so she could sing along. All her worries in that moment subsided. That’s just one of the many sweet gestures that I have witnessed. To say the least, my mom has adjusted well. For anyone seeking a place for a loved one, look no further than one of Sam’s homes. Each is operated by people who will treat your loved ones with love, care, compassion, and dignity. Sam and his care team have developed a culture that is incredible. It can only be understood by experiencing it. The difference in their operation is noticeable in small details. Each new resident is greeted with the red-carpet service. The home is immaculate. The caregivers are exceptional in every way. Thank you, Sam, Tracey, Carlos, and Jana and all the compassionate caregivers, for welcoming my parents with open arms, when it was an especially difficult time for our family. Our lives have become easier knowing they are both safe, eating well and cared for in such a loving way.
From the first conversation I had with Anthem Senior Manors Director Sam, I knew this was the perfect place for my Dad. Sam provided me with a complete look into the type of care my father would receive but it didn't end there. All of my questions were thoughtfully and thoroughly answered and the residence itself is just beautiful! Since Dad has been there he's participated in activities, made friends, enjoyed wonderful meals and loved showing his visitors his great new home. We, as a family know his care is always at the forefront of everything they do and we couldn't have asked for more.
Anthem Senior Manor is home to the luckiest of residents. Those who deserve the best services and families who truly are proud of where their loved ones get to live. Built from the ground up, the mission of our owner has been tried and true for 20 years serving Anthem. Loving God and Loving people is the bedrock and the foundation of our spirit. There is a large team of us who have the calling of serving! Should you be so fortunate to have your loved ones pampered here, rest assured that you have arrived! Does it mean we're perfect? No. But working here for over 5 years as a RN, we never stop striving to be exceptional! Hope I get the chance to welcome you!
I have known Sam and his family for many years. I have worked at many facilities, and I can share with confidence that your loved one will be met with a owner who spares no expense to pamper his residents. The homes are beautiful but more importantly, they are filled with a spirit of service. Don't hesitate and remember your loved ones deserve the best!
We needed Dad to be closer to us than the 13 hour drive to CA would allow especially when his health suddenly took a turn. But where to find a lovely home environment with care givers who would genuinely embrace our loved one with patience, thoughtful encouragement, tasty meals and reliable assistance on a daily basis? Fortuitously enough my husband heard of Anthem Senior Manor several months ago and after speaking with Sam about our Dad’s then current health status, toured the residence twice in a day, and realized that ASM would be ideal for our circumstance. But how to implement this momentous decision ? During the ensuing two weeks, Sam got to know more about our loved one and his status, and then skillfully walked us through our worries and endless questions. He put us in touch with a talented support team that would arrange for and manage the Medical Transport. Additionally, Sam introduced us to the professionals in Palliative and Hospice care who would direct Dad’s medical needs going forward. Within a week we knew there was plan that could make Dad’s move from hospital bed in CA to his new room and home in AZ happen very quickly… like overnight, literally ! Yippee!! Prayers being answered: Dad would be all the more comfortable and compassionately attended to on a daily basis. And Bonus for us: Anthem Senior Manor was just 30 minutes from our home !! Feeling blessed !! Sam truly was a God sent at a time when our family was swimming in worry and indecision to present a viable and thoughtful plan for Dad. Thanks to him, we were able to confidently make this loving decision for Dad. The “grand adventure” took place without a hitch or a worry overnight between March 31 and April 1. Now fast forward to Dad’s arrival at the Manor. We were thrilled when Dad was rolled into the grand room looking all fresh and dapper. He had arrived an hour before us - greeted by staff, handed a cup of decaf, fed a favorite breakfast, showered shaved groomed and dressed, and presented to us anew !! After a brief tour of his new home, (loved the putting green), he was lifted by two persons into a cushy recliner in front of a large TV !! And we both teared up!! Our Dad hadn’t be seated in a chair since his first stroke the end of July 2023 !! Wow !! Thank you all for your kindness and playfulness with your newly arrived Cowboy resident! Carlos, Tracey and the rest of the team, we are so grateful !! And special thanks to Sam and Tracey for your inquisitiveness and genuine thoughtfulness during those first hours… helping us unpack Dad’s things and offering to hang photos for us. We enjoyed sharing stories about Dad’s “life well lived” and putting names to faces from family photos. [A very clever way to get to know more about their newest resident, Sam and Tracey !! ;) While driving home, we sighed a few times and reassured each other that our loved one deserved to be in this great place. We arrived home relaxed and confident Dad will thrive in the care of this lovely community at Anthem Senior Manor. Long story short… We offer the highest marks to Anthem Senior Manor: Our family and the Cowboy’s friends in Cathey’s Valley bestow handfuls of feathers to fluff all y’all’s beautiful angel wings! A thousand thank you’s, Ally and Brad Lozares PS. We truly enjoy ASM’s wheelchair access van !! Dad is thrilled to know it’s possible to come back at our home for favorite meal, a visit with friends or family members when they come to Scottsdale !!
This is a follow up to my February 2023 review. My mother lived at Anthem Senior Manor for the last 14 months until her passing this month. I can only give an emotional and heart felt thank you to Sam and his staff for taking such loving care of mom. They exceeded every expectation. Senior care is truly their calling.
