3.0 · 2 reviewsI am writing this on the eve of moving my son from AZ to Texas. He has lived in one of the AZ InterAct houses for almost 10 years. Its bittersweet because not only have they protected him from the world and himself it has allowed me to have a life outside of him again. I am very nervous to take him from this program and considered keeping him there but I cannot imagine not seeing my son but a couple of times a year. I am writing this on the eve of moving my son from AZ to Texas. I am smarter, have seen that what they have provided has worked, and am aware of the things to help guide his new placement to meet his needs as AZ-InterAct has done for my son. Before coming to live at this program he was in and out of the state hospital and behavioral facilities since his accident in 2007. They have provided safety, support, continuity of staff, guidance, and so much more. They took him to therapy, Dr visits, recreational outings, and provided a family type environment between all their houses for the residents and the staff. I have always been invited to attend parties. I have always been informed of change or incidents. I have been guided by thoughtful and knowledgable owners who are not the mother to child with a traumatic brain injury that tends to think with her heart instead of her head all the time. This has led to a behavioral plan that has helped he and I both grow. All that being said my sons injury did not come with a map or tour guide but what I found with them is that they care about the residents, their staff, their families, and each other. They strive to meet the needs of each individual and their families. They have always been available to me day, night, weekends, and holidays at the sacrifice of their own families. I have the utmost respect for the owners, the staff, and their families because this isn't just a job for them. They pour their heart and soul into the success and happiness of everyone.
