Because We Care Assisted Living

My mom stayed here for a few months. Our experience was terrible. The staff was inexperienced, lacked common sense as well as a sense of urgency. She was left unattended on a rolling chair in her bedroom with her food placed in front of her on a rolling tray. She had been given medication that made her sleepy and couldn’t stay awake while eating her food. She was a fall risk when she was placed in this home but clearly her health condition was disregarded. There was another incident when she was moved back in her bedroom after eating dinner in the kitchen and the caregiver didn’t turn her oxygen on. When the O2 was discovered my mom was told that this was a self assisted care facility. My mom was on hospice and clearly wasn’t able to care for herself. There was another time when she was forced to take medication she didn’t want to take. I would never recommend this place. For reference purposes this is being posted August 2020.

My mother stayed at this facility for about 6 months. She had a wound on her forearm which became severely infected. They covered it so I could not tell how severe it was. An X-ray showed a fractured wrist with no signs of a fall. The social worker at the hospital refused to release her back into their care. I personally watch them mishandle the residents and discussed it with the owner. I found a caregiver intoxicated in the evening. I witnessed the medication cabinet left open and unattended. Always the owner stated they would take care of it. The staff was rude and uncaring with very few exceptions. They served horrible food in small quantities. Most of the meals consisted of processed foods like dinosaur chicken nuggets, frozen pizza, soup out of a can (which was probably the healthiest of all). I found a wonderful place where my mom is happy and treated like a queen. Check out Amy’s Home Care! All meals are cooked from scratch, she is monitored all through the day, she gets her body treated with lotion daily.... I can’t say enough about the care she is now getting. Her physician told me my mother would not be alive at Because We Care! Don’t take your loved ones there. They DONOT CARE!
