There does not appear to be enough staff to properly support the number of residents, which results in some individuals receiving minimal care—or at times, no care at all. I have personally observed staff members sitting on their phones instead of attending to residents, and there have been instances where no staff were visible or available when needed. I would not recommend Brookdale Senior Living to anyone looking for quality care for their loved one. From my experience, the level of care provided to residents is deeply concerning. There does not appear to be enough staff to properly support the number of residents, which results in some individuals receiving minimal care—or at times, no care at all. I have personally observed staff members sitting on their phones instead of attending to residents, and there have been instances where no staff were visible or available when needed. This creates an environment where residents’ basic needs may not be met in a timely or compassionate manner. Placing a loved one in a facility should come with peace of mind, knowing they are safe, supported, and cared for. Unfortunately, that has not been the case here. I strongly advise others to carefully consider alternative options before placing a loved one at any Brookdale location.
Dora and all the caregivers have been wonderful to work with and treat their residents like family. We have been very happy with the care our family member receives. Dora, Marilyn, Auggy, Cameron and rest of “Brookdale family” has made this difficult time easier to navigate.
All of the staff really care about the welfare of the residents at Brookdale. The activities, the food, the care provided for my wife gives me peace of mind knowing that she is being taken care of!

Brookdale is a wonderful community where your loved one is well cared for and respected.
I am a huge advocate of Brookdale Union Hills. My Dad has been there 1 1/2 years. The manager “Dora” is very caring, “Jenny” has gone above and beyond and is so special to me, “Regina” and “Anna” always get answers to health questions I have. The facility always smells clean and fresh! I am so happy my Dad is at Brookdale, as I know he is safe, and taken care of. He likes it there too! What a blessing.
They are the kindest, caring people I have met in this whole journey of my mom's. My mom has been in another facility that was more expensive but was so bad to their residents. I couldn't ask for anything better than Brookdale Communities staff they care for their residents, and you can tell that they are screened and tried during hiring as these people are always happy, patient, caring and kind to their residents and the residents' families and I am hard to please.
Horrible place, they had my mother in law for 21 days and she is now in the hospital and has been for 8 days!! Do not put your family in this place!!! Don't let the esthetics fool you!! The staff is a damn joke!!
BROOKDALE CORPORATE YOU NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE AND GET RID OF DORA, REGINA, SHARON. For the safety of your residence we are asking for you to do the right thing. My grandmother was placed in this facility and within 21 days this facility almost killed her. Refused to offer her water, refused to make sure she took her medicine to the point that they left her with 30% of her kidneys functioning. Because my mother visited my grandmother daily and pointed out their neglect, she was removed from visiting my grandmother. My mom asked them repeatedly to call the doctor because my grandmother did not look well, they refused. My mother took my grandmother to the ER for fear of her health and in retaliation this joke of a facility called adult protective services on my mother. They even went as far as dumping chemicals on my grandmothers $800 mattress so the new facility wouldn’t take it. Luckily the social worker for adult protective services was able to gather the necessary information to see they were called for retaliation and in turn they now will be investigated for neglect. We will also be acquiring an attorney to purse individual lawsuits for neglect on my grandmother for each of the people(s) working in the facility that caused my grandmother health issues. Brookdale Corporate, we want our money back 100% full refund. We want the money back for the bed that was ruined by your staff. WHO RUINS AN ELDERY WOMANS MATTRESS INTENTIONALLY????
