I have been a resident of Friendship Village for 6 years. To date I reside in an Independent Living apartment. During late August and early Sept 2024 I was hospitalized for three days and released to the Health Care facility for 7 days before returning to my apartment. I can’t say enough good things about the care I received in the Center. The nursing staff, the therapy staff and the administrative staff were helpful, kind, and considerate to me no matter the reason for the interaction. I want to mention several staff members by name: Aracely, Dom, Bailey, Jacob, and the LNA who helped with…

I want to mention several staff members by name: Aracely, Dom, Bailey, Jacob, and the LNA who helped with two showers during my stay. Each one, and many others, were just the right amount of attentive. I went home in control of my meds and needs and I am grateful. If you have to use help, this was the place to receive it! Thank you all!!
My dad was a resident of FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE PALLIATIVE CARE UNIT - Hospice of the Valley. The grounds are impeccable and beautiful. I would live there even as a non-senior. I'm kind of there, but as somebody who was not looking for assisted living. If it was an apartment complex or a condo that I could buy, I would live there. It's very peaceful, impeccable, calm, well-maintained, and it's just very quiet. The staff were phenomenal, kind, supportive, and very knowledgeable. The food was surprisingly good.
My husband is in Friendship Village Palliative Care - Unit Hospice of the Valley for rehab. It's a wonderful place, it looks more like a hotel than a nursing home. So far, it seems to be going fine and they seem to be very caring. They got his medications back on track. The physical therapy, they say they're doing it in the room. They all seem very caring and responsive to his needs, like when he needed some special medication, they ordered it right away. They wanted me to bring up his walker. I brought up his walker and they marked it right away. Their rooms are big, private and it's clean.…

I've seen a couple of meals, and my husband says it's pretty good. It's a lot better than the hospital food and it looks fine. They can't do anything right now because he's not vaccinated, so he's in quarantine, but they have activities. I'm not paying for anything, he's on Medicare right now.
I had lunch with some people at Friendship Village. I visited the cottages, the nursing home, the dining room, and the main facilities. It's a very lovely place, but it's a little expensive. Food was excellent, and they had a wide variety of choices, and they're fresh and delicious. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They had movies, book study groups, several libraries, outside speakers come in, and teaching English as a second language for the staff. The facilities were modern, kept up, and very nice.
This place is fantastic. We moved in 4 years ago and have been very happy. The facility is beautiful. The staff is wonderful. The CEO Cole M. is so competent and caring. We live in a two bedroom cottage with a lovely covered patio that looks out on a beautiful grassy area with lovely trees. The meals are very good. Restaurants have been closed because of COVID-19 but our meals are delivered and the variety is amazing. It is truly a carefree lifestyle.
I visited Friendship Village Tempe, and I can't praise it enough. It was phenomenal and had little town houses, condos, good floor plans, 4 restaurants, and one was open all day long. However, it was a buy-in, and they wanted you to have enough extra money to be equivalent to what you were buying in. the arts and crafts, music, lessons were almost like in a senior university. It went from independent living to assisted living, and when you left, you get 80% of the buy-in. The food was fine, and we had a very nice luncheon. There was a salad bar and soup. The people who were there were phenomenal, retired persons, and they're doing what they like to do, like teaching the things they liked to teach. I would have fit in there nicely.
Friendship Village Tempe has a very pleasant environment. It's very clean, and the staff is very pleasant. They have good food and regular dining schedule. The activities are fine. There is a bus that goes regularly to various places. There are many kinds of different activities, but some of them I have no interest in. The one that I'm interested in the most is that they take you regularly to musical events in Phoenix.
My mom was in skilled nursing at Friendship Village about two and a half years ago. It is an extremely nice place, and I would love to see her in their assisted living, but it is really expensive. The skilled nursing and the assisted living was brand new, and the rooms were very nice. They also have independent living where they have little casitas or apartments for people. It was kind of a step down, and you could go from independent living to assisted living and then skilled nursing because they have it all there. The staff was extremely nice, and the food was great.
