My 88 year old mother and 90 year old aunt are residents at Goldwater Legacy Assisted Living. Of several facilities they have been at, this place is not only the best but is by a large margin. The difference is like staying at a 5 star hotel versus a 3 star. The staff treats my mother and aunt as if they were their mother and aunt. The facility itself is elegant and classy. The food is fresh, prepared on-site, and is excellent. The owners and staff are professional and responsive. I can not say enough good things about this assisted living facility.
I just read the review dated May 2018. This has to be referencing another facility. The Goldwater Assisted Living on 55th Avenue has had the same ownership since 2010. I have personal experience with Goldwater Assisted Living. My mother was a resident over six and a half years, She could not have been in a better place. She received excellent, loving care this entire time. The owners and caregivers are exceptional in every way. I visited every day and every resident was treated with love and respect. Everyone there became like family to me. My mom passed away two and a half years ago at age…

Everyone there became like family to me. My mom passed away two and a half years ago at age 99. Prior to the Covid pandemic I still visited several times a month. Once a month we had a party where we would play bingo, the residents would win prizes and we would do craft projects. We will continue this when it is safe to do so. This is a wonderful senior care facility.
Best place
I have been in and out of Goldwater Assisted Living on 55th Ave as my father-in-law resided at Goldwater Assisted Living II on Pinnacle Peak. Both homes are superb! Vicki and John, at the Pinnacle Peak residence, were very attentive, the meals were excellent, and communication was always prompt with medications, needs, and any concerns. Both of the homes are very secure and just beautiful. Father-in-law lived there for 4 months. We moved him to a one-bedroom arrangement as he wanted more space. All the rooms at Goldwater are good sized and have their own private bathroom. We had no complaints.
What you see is not what you get. Owner does not have a lot of patience, nor enough help. Is not able to care for dementia patients with sundowners. One live in couple expected to do most of work including getting up at night with patients in 10 room facility. Needs to be a person separately scheduled to work night shift. The minute there is any problem the family is called and given veiled threats to outright ultimatums. We had to leave another state 3 times in 6 month period to stop the threats and put out fires when if enough qualified help was hired this would not have been a problem. The owner cannot give shots, does bare minimum to ensure peace for dementia resident or their family. If you have a loved one with Alzheimer's dementia with sundowners, you will become increasingly stressed at threatened eviction when you are promised help to hospice in this facility. Sometimes you really can't read a book by its cover...
Goldwater is such a beautiful place on 55th avenue but it was already full when I went to tour the facility. There's no opening some time soon and there are people in the waiting list and I really needed to find a place for my mother then. The house is actually build specifically for care. It's a newer facility compared to others and it's a little sophisticated too. Their rooms are spacious enough. They have a lot of sophisticated activities. They have a lot of music and they have a piano. People just come in and play. I saw them preparing food and it's very organized and very well ran. They also have an organized exercise program every morning. Also since my mom has dementia, she prefers to be in a smaller place and smaller crowd. I think that she would be having a hard time if she lives there but I would probably live there in the future. It's a very nice facility- excellent I would say.
