This has evolved into a great senior living experience for our mother, mostly because of Nursing Director Shayla Hill and the consistent quality of care she and upper management have established for residents. Shayla is readily available, quick to act, and very professional, plus exceptionally well-skilled, clearly experienced, and great at her job. She's really nice, too. Everyone has gone above and beyond for our parent, especially in challenging situations regarding her level of care and safety concerns. They are accessible, compassionate, listen well and react appropriately to situations. These are very demanding jobs and that are handled with grace and understanding, and while I'm boasting about Shayla, everyone is very good. The whole staff, from the front desk on, they're all friendly, kind and happy to help. This is a top-down attitude from management, and it's a huge improvement from a year ago. At first, there was high turnover, and we were concerned. But the current management team is cohesive, and they work together to solve problems for residents and their families, and it has made a noticeable difference in care coordination. Plus, it's a beautiful living environment, conveniently located to restaurants and shopping in Mesa, with great activities, not a bunch of boring old people stuff to do. The staff encourage community engagement. And the food is good with nice variety.
This place wasn't for us. We gave it a year and moved to a golf condo that we are in love with.
Memory care unit has had some turnovers on staff but everyone has been very helpful and nice.
My life an experience here at Las Palomas can be summed up with one word – WONDERFUL. The Front Desk – They are informative. They keep track of those that are leaving the facility for the day whether it is a doctor’s appointment, retail store, or an outing with a friend. They also keep track of individuals that come into the facility. They are sincere and care. The Medical Techs are terrific! They are particularly good at delivering your medicine to you on time daily. I have had no problems with them. I can honestly say that they care. The cafeteria is GREAT. The size of the portions was a little smaller than I was used to, but you can always ask for more. They have a great menu selection. The food and dessert are ECELLENT. The first month I was here I gained eight pounds. The Activity Directors are INCREDIBLE. They have internal daily activities that can really keep you busy. They also have external activities you can sign up for. (concerts, plays, restaurant)
I would love others to know how welcoming and accommodating the staff is at Las Palomas for my senior friend. As we toured different places for my friend to move to we noticed something different about Las Palomas. It had a homey, welcoming, safe, and fun environment. The facility is clean, staff is friendly and genuinely cares for the residents. There are a variety of activities for all skills and preferences. When I go visit my friend I always feel welcomed and enjoy spending time there. So grateful we found this wonderful home for my dear friend and grateful for those that work and serve the sweet residents.
Las Palmomas has been a great place for my friend. She loves it. I feel good knowing she is there and safe. She's always having about the food and all of the activities provided (she hasn't joined any yet - but I think eventually she will) she commented " if you can't find something to do, then you're the problem". Thank you [name removed] and all the staff there, for your kindness and patience.
I was very apprehensive about having my mom in a facility but it has been a great experience for my mom and she’s very happy. This makes things so much easier. Knowing she’s not home alone all day and has other people to talk to and do things with has been a game changer.
My experience here at Los Palmas is very pleasant! The staff is very helpful and tends to your very needs. When you enter this establishment, it's very clean and meticulously manicured! I would call this a home away from home!
