My mother is currently at this facility and day one she was left to sit in her own filth For seven hours, I asked for her to be changed myself and it took almost 2 hours for that to happen. Some of the staff is quite amazing but keeping somebody in this condition while she has advanced Alzheimer’s wouldn’t ask for help if she needed to. They have to look out for her, and I’ve never been so upset in my life doing everything I can to get her into a different place as soon as possible. If you have a choice, I would not choose this.
This place was hell on steroids. The only decent care you got is if it was during the week during the day. The night and weekend staff were horrible. The food was not only awful tasting but always arrived cold. They would leave people laying or sitting in soiled diapers or linen for hours. You were only allowed a shower on 2 days of the week, and sometimes you had to fight to get them. I asked for a transfer out a couple times but I was always told that those places wouldn’t take me. There was only a small few that were awesome staff like Ericsson, Jamie, Sammy and GiGi. Whatever you do,…

I’d leave zero stars if I could. I guess the one star can go to the friendliness of the staff. My dad is currently living there and I am actively trying to get him out. The level of neglect is criminal. EVERYDAY I go there and he’s sitting in soiled clothes on a mattress with no bedding. He’s filthy, the floors are always sticky and filthy. He has a feeding tube in and I don’t believe they are changing the fluid. They only offered me a tour after I complained about not getting one and they still haven’t given him a tour. He has dementia and has no idea where he is. They just threw him in a room. I found him sitting on the side of the bed with his hospital gown pulled over his bed. He’s been soiling his bed because no one comes to take him to the bathroom. Then he takes the sheets off because they are dirty and they won’t put sheets back on because “he keeps taking them off”. I HAD TO CLEAN HIS MATTRESS yesterday because it was sticky. Every single day I’ve been there the room has been disgusting and I had to go get someone to clean it a little. And even then all they did was make the bed and pick up the trash. No one told me how laundry or really anything works at this facility. He’s supposed to be on level 6 soft foods but the nurse is telling me had sausage and stuff for breakfast. How is that a soft food? When I go there and bring a yogurt, I have to feed it to him because he can’t do it so how is he eating all his food? No one knows what’s going and I don’t trust what they tell me and what they tell me is minimal. I take photos everyday I’m there. This is the type of facility that would forget a patient in the van in AZ heat. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED HERE.
I had myself a mighty fine stay at Rio Vista. The food was downright tasty, always hot and fresh, and sure hit the spot. The place was clean as a whistle, and you could tell folks took pride in keeping it that way. The staff were sweeter than sweet tea on a summer day—always friendly, helpful, and quick with a smile. They made me feel right at home from the minute I walked in. Couldn't ask for a better bunch of folks.
I would like to recognize CNA Dowana for the exceptional care and kindness she showed my mother during her stay at this facility. My mom had never been in this type of place and hearing my mom express the compassion and patience Dowana showed her goes a long way. I’m not one for writing reviews but when given the opportunity to share the love of others I didn’t feel I had a choice. My mom said she greeted her with a smile, offered encouragement to get home faster and consistently went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable and well cared for during her stay. So thank you Dowana for the compassion and love you have for others.
Due to a lifelong medical condition I've been in and out of Rio Vista. They are always so welcoming and sweet, but Victoria in case management goes above and beyond for any and all of the residents! She is so kind and has such a huge heart! She is more than helpful to make sure I've never had a problem with handling anything or getting anything done/taken care of. She is a huge asset to this place and I'm grateful for her! Everything is done so efficiently when it comes to her and I've never had to stress about a thing.

We had the best experience with this Rehab. Our friend went in with so many needs and she left with all of those needs fulfilled. She didn’t want to leave. Thank you to the nursing staff, the case managers, the caregivers, cooks, housekeeping, and therapists. We appreciate you!
