As the Transportation Director at The Manor, my experience has been wonderful. The residents are warm and welcoming, and the workplace offers good benefits. From the residents’ perspective, it truly feels like home.
I moved into the Manor in August 2024 and have enjoyed being here the people are family oriented, the staff are friendly, the food is excellent and residents are also. I looked at other places and I chose this one. Medical facility is close by transportation and shopping available.
Both of my parents live at Manor Village. My father is in memory care and my mother is in assisted living. We looked at a lot of places, but as soon as we walked in and spoke to Wesley & Toby we knew this was the right place. Everyone that works here is so friendly and they treat you like family. The memory care staff are amazing and my father is doing so well here. It is clean, well taken care of and both of my parents enjoy the food. It is an amazing place, you will not regret putting your loved ones here.
I used to live at The Manor Village at Desert Ridge and I would not recommend it to anybody. The food was up and down. The facility looked nice when you first walked in there until you figured out that it wasn't. The lobby looked nice and then you saw this little bar, but the bar was never open. You weren't allowed to be in the lounge. They didn't like hanging out there. They had stupid rules and they couldn't keep a staff there because they didn't pay enough money. The building was brand new, but they didn't have a walkway. It was really inconvenient. The elevators were always crowded. Plus, they had memory care. If they had had some entertainment (I was in the independent living), they moved all the memory care people and all that stuff out there. It was just bad. They are charging way too much money. I was there for two years and my rent went up over 20% in two years. One of my biggest complaints is you had to get up at 7:00 if you wanted to eat breakfast and then they closed. You had to go down at 11:00 if you wanted lunch then they closed. Then you had to go down at 4:00 if you wanted dinner, then they closed. Everything was about them, not the residents.
Multiple staff members have shared similar concerns about [name removed] and [name removed]. [name removed]frequently makes threats, often saying, ‘If I don’t like you, I’ll just get rid of you.’ From the beginning, he was dismissive and distant toward me, yet he was always friendly and engaged with my white sous chef—often talking about me rather than to me. [name removed] initially seemed welcoming during the hiring process but quickly became overly controlling. Her micromanagement created a tense work environment, making it difficult to perform effectively. Despite these challenges, I remained dedicated to my role, working diligently without taking breaks to ensure my responsibilities were met with the highest level of care and commitment. However, my efforts were overlooked by both you and the HR department, even as I navigated personal hardships. Following the passing of my mother, I took a week off to grieve—a reasonable and necessary request during such a difficult time. Rather than receiving support or understa
Chef Isaiah has been incredibly accommodating to my grandmother, allowing her to enjoy meals without the fear of becoming ill from her Celiac and dairy-free diet. The chef before him seemed to not care. He stays in constant communication with me to ensure that the weekly menu meets her needs. She often praises him for taking the time to visit the dining room during each meal to check on her. Both she and her tablemates have a great appreciation for him. Today, she called to inform me that he was let go without any explanation. This is a significant loss for the manor, and it's truly disappointing.
For the money they charge is not worth living here. They are very greedy and management doesn't really care about the residents.
I am a relatively new resident at Manor Village in the immediate vicinity of the Desert Ridge Mall in Phoenix, Arizona. When I began my search for a future residence for myself, I had several important criteria. Having three levels was crucial; Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. I found all three at Manor Village. As a facility that is three years old, the design of the facility is modern, user friendly and ":fresh". Manor Village emphasizes a positive attitude toward its residents They have definitely succeeded. Everyone who works here is helpful and supportive of the residents thus creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. They are here to help whether it is serving in the dining room, bringing food to units when necessary, providing supportive care or just a smile and "hello" when passing in the halls. Additionally, there are numerous activities on site as well as frequent visits to outside venues including shopping, shows and places of general interest Manor Village is truly a "Village" Hank B.
