Horrible place. Do not go here for detox services
I felt compelled to leave a five-star review. I have visited this facility twice, and both times, I had a life-changing experience. It is perplexing to witness numerous negative experiences at this facility. Each individual’s experience is unique, and I will share my second visit. My appointment with my Mental Health psychiatrist commenced with me expressing my emotions and thoughts at that moment. I contacted Anevier with the intention of seeking treatment at this hospital to save my life. Upon arrival, I was greeted with respect, and a sense of comfort enveloped me. The registration staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, and we engaged in lighthearted conversation, which instilled a sense of hope that my life would be saved while I was at Avenir. The process was swift and reassuring. I was transferred to Unit A, where several nurses recognized me. Fidelitie extended a warm and sincere hug, which provided me with a reassuring sign that I would be well cared for. The duration of my stay was one week. While I yearned to return home with my family, I also desired to extend my stay at Avenir for an additional week. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar 1 Disorder, psychosis, hallucinations, severe depression, and anxiety, among other conditions. Upon admission to Avenir, my diagnosis and past drug addiction were irrelevant. I was not there to undergo drug withdrawal. My presence at Avenir was driven by the realization that my life was in danger and my need for assistance. The staff and nurses did not treat me differently or make me feel uncomfortable due to my mental illness or past drug addictions. No one judged me or exhibited any form of rudeness. I hold the staff and all nurses in high regard. Avenir has significantly improved my life. Having a safe place to go during difficult times is a blessing. I am fortunate that my destination for recovery was directly to Avenir. We had several meetings with patients and staff. Jibrihl and Kaylin facilitated the group meetings, which were invaluable for me to introduce myself and discuss setting goals and striving to achieve them while at Avenir. Before their shift ended, we had another group session to assess whether our goals had been completed or if we could try again tomorrow. Jabrihl emphasized that we are human and face struggles. As long as we maintain a positive and motivated attitude, we can achieve our goals and continue our lives with strength and resilience. He reminded us that staff members are also human and that everyone in this world experiences struggles. We should never feel alone or believe that our lives are insignificant. Both Jibrihl and Kaylin were exceptional individuals. We had positive days, but the meetings were crucial for us all. I will always remember the importance of our lives and that it is okay if we do not achieve our goals today. We can wait for tomorrow, the day after, next week, or next month. Two to three days before my discharge, I was feeling well, embracing my true self, and engaging in my usual activities of interacting with everyone and treating others with the respect I desire. I had no issues with anyone. My medication was adjusted, which effectively alleviated the distressing feelings and thoughts I had about myself. I miss the food, which was consistently delicious. Let us not forget the snacks. The breaks to step outside and bask in the sun were also therapeutic for me. As mentioned earlier, this has been my second visit to Avenir, and both experiences have been profoundly life-changing. I will always return to Avenir if I ever feel the need to seek help and return to those negative thoughts that made me feel unworthy of life. I hope to never experience those thoughts again, but if I do, I am confident that I will be at Avenir. Huge THANK YOU to all Staff members. Thank you Avenir for saving my life and making me feel human again. I had to leave 2 comments since my review was way too long.
Toxic, constantly changing medication without cause, or explanation. Went in voluntarily, and, was treated poorly....ZERO group sessions in the week there, played mind games before release, I DEFINITELY would NOT recommend this facility to ANYONE who isn't prepared to be treated like a prisoner, instead of care. Shameful. :(
This is this place to come as you are with finding the help support with help from support to re program your life back into the into life world as an independent person
Was admitted to Avenir. Some of the staff was super sweet and helpful. Others wanted nothing to do with you. I had to constantly ask for toilet paper for my room, the floors in the common area weren’t cleaned. They ran out of pants and socks. Don’t think I would ever go back or recommend this facility to anyone. I was deceived by admittance staff that it was everything that it wasn’t.
