I so appreciate the consistent care from, and uplifting nature of the Avista personnel for our mother Marilyn. I felt that she was always well-attended to and even in her most trying times, cheerfully supported. All the staff and Admin that we interacted with seemed genuinely interested in her well-being. Not only was Mother well taken care of but I and my siblings, felt both considered and supported. I so very much appreciated all of their caring, hard work.
As a medical provider in this town, I may say that Avista Senior Living is one of the best. The staff are so caring and loving to all their residents and I have witnessed this for so many years every time I’m in the building. The administration lead by the executive director, Hilda has been very involved in a good way and always making sure that her home is always providing a high quality care and she is always on top of everything. I even chose this wonderful home when a close family member of mine needed an assisted living care for a short period of time to recover and they did not…
As a medical provider in this town, I may say that Avista Senior Living is one of the best. The staff are so caring and loving to all their residents and I have witnessed this for so many years every time I’m in the building. The administration lead by the executive director, Hilda has been very involved in a good way and always making sure that her home is always providing a high quality care and she is always on top of everything. I even chose this wonderful home when a close family member of mine needed an assisted living care for a short period of time to recover and they did not disappoint me and my family and provided the best care so far. So if you are looking for a warm, welcoming, caring and dedicated staff for yourself or for your loved ones, always consider Avista Senior Living. I wanted to give a shout out to their amazing staff, including Patty, Francisco, Zaira, Megan, Laura and other hard-working staff that I did not mention because I forgot their names.
Great place to care for my mother.
[name removed] wasn't happy with his experience there...the previous resident in the respite apartment had apparently kept the keys to the room & medicine cabinet...so [name removed] had no way to lock up his medicines, or the room, when he'd go out of it...the tv quit working, so if he wanted to watch tv, had to go to their library, and watch what ever was showing...He needs his food puréed, as he has trouble choking if trying to swallow otherwise. They will decide if they'll accept you based upon the answers they receive according to the AZ health department...and the needs required by the person applying...
I toured Avista Yuma. If I had seen anybody in the community, I would have given us a higher score, but the only person I saw was a lady in her room. Nobody was in the hall, so nobody was anywhere, and I'm a people person. So that kind of freaked me out. I didn't try the food. I thought it would have been dinner time. It was between 6 and 7. She said they had already finished dinner, and nobody was there. I didn't even see any leftover dishes or anything. So, I thought this was weird. Everything was very clean. It looked fairly new. I don't know if it would have been a fit for my dog and cat. I would think that I would have to leave them locked in the room the whole time. I wouldn't want to have my dog and cat confined everywhere I go. It didn't look like it would be an easy place to take my cats and dogs outside. I don't know that the cat would even be allowed outside. There was no smell, but the room was so tiny, it was like I wouldn't even want to shut my door because it was tiny. I didn't have an appointment, and the administrators were not there. So, the nurse gave me the tour. He was very nice. He showed me what he knew. He did the best he could.
My mother died last [date removed]. The facility was great taking care of mom. They were great to mom. I would highly recommend them. Rooms were always clean, staff was awesome!
We went to Avista Yuma. We met with Heidi, the director. She was very informative and a very nice person to talk to. Then we took a tour and went through the facility and I was very impressed with how cheery it was, the cleanliness of the facility, and the total layout of the facility. The amenities were nicely appointed with furniture. There's a lot of light in there and a lot of nice paintings and graphics on the wall. It was nice to walk through. It was very pleasing to the eye. The staff was very pleasant and very courteous. If my brother-in-law could've afforded it, it would've been a nice place, and it would've been our choice. The costs that they showed us were not out of range. It's just we're not set up for it. I was a fire marshal and did inspection on the facilities. During my 20-year tenure as a fire marshal, this is one of the cleanest facilities that I've seen, and one of the most pleasant. It smelled fresh inside.
They do a good job!
