Meagan Paige is as caring and compassionate as a close family member would be, and her entire team is as committed as she is to providing a level of care that has far exceeded my expectations. I can’t say enough good things about the Hummingbird Assisted Living home that my wife is residing in. Meagan Paige is as caring and compassionate as a close family member would be, and her entire team is as committed as she is to providing a level of care that has far exceeded my expectations. My 69 year old wife lost her memory suddenly and completely on Valentine’s Day 2026. Following multiple hospitalizations and a diagnosis of autoimmune encephalitis, I cared for her at home for as long as I could but it was not sustainable. Initially, I placed her in the memory care unit of a large assisted living community. They were unable to provide the level of care and supervision that my wife required. Hummingbird has been a total opposite experience. The caregivers are like family to my wife and to me. Their can-do attitude, unlimited patience, and total compassion enabled them to earn my total trust while allowing me to focus on being a husband instead of a caregiver. Meagan and Cory have set a standard of care and excellence that few facilities will ever be able to equal. It is my sincere pleasure to recommend the Hummingbird homes.

You need to look no further. Top review and five stars. When it came time to move my mom into assisted living, I was absolutely terrified. Like so many families, I worried that no place could ever feel like home for someone living with dementia. I could not have been more wrong. Hummingbird Retreat has been nothing short of a miracle for our family. The adjustment wasn’t easy at first. My mom was frightened, confused, and wanted nothing to do with leaving her home. But with incredible patience, kindness, and consistency, the staff slowly earned her trust. Today, she smiles, knows the caregivers by name, and truly feels like she’s at home. Watching that transformation has been one of the greatest gifts our family has received. Meagan, the owner, is a nurse, and that makes all the difference. She understands not only the clinical side of caring for older adults but also the emotional side for both residents and their families. She knows what it takes to do this important work, and it shows in every aspect of the home she has created. The staff is simply extraordinary. They are compassionate, attentive, and genuinely love the people they care for. They treat every resident with dignity and respect, and they make families feel like true partners in care. Communication is excellent, and they work collaboratively with physicians, hospice, caregivers, and the entire healthcare team to make sure everyone is on the same page. One thing that has especially impressed me is how much they care about the little things that make a big difference—like what residents enjoy eating. They take the time to learn personal preferences and do everything they can to make meals enjoyable instead of just serving food. As someone who has spent my career leading healthcare organizations, I have high expectations. Hummingbird Retreat has exceeded every one of them. If you’re struggling with the heartbreaking decision of moving a loved one into assisted living, I hope this gives you some comfort. There is life after the move. There can be laughter again. There can be peace. And there can absolutely be a place that feels like home. Hummingbird Retreat is like the home that is caring, kind, considerate and always there to help in everyway. The staff is very kind, caring, considerate and they care about the safety of our loved one. They make us feel right at home. They gave our loved one a birthday party that was so very special. I feel Hummingbird Retreat gives our loved ones the care, kindness, and diginity they deserve as well as a safe environment. We are quite please with the care and safety of our loved one at Hummingbird Retreat.

In February of 2026 our sister was in need of more care than we could provide, following a hospitalization after a fall. She needed wound care, proper nutrition and supervision due to the onset of dementia. We found everything we needed for that critical period at Hummingbird Retreat. The wound care was excellent, as was the protein-focused food—just what she needed for her specific situation. But none of that would have been as effective had she not also been treated with respect and compassion. The kindness that was shown to her was also shown to us, her family, at a very stressful time for us all. Hummingbird is not only physically suitable for the needs of people seeking care, it is lovely and immaculate-- with an attention to detail that makes one feel “at home”. Our sister’s primary aid and the nurses who managed her care will be friends of ours for life. While we moved our sister to be closer to family, many States away, we were very appreciative of the care she recieved during her time at Hummingbird.
Meagan is highly motivated and assures the best quality of care. She is an RN and completely invested in the care of her residents. Highly recommend.
If you’re looking for care for your loved one that is, quite literally, equivalent, or even better than the caliber you’d give them at home, Hummingbird Retreat is absolutely the place for your family. Navigating care for our loved one has been one of the most challenging journeys of my life. Trying to select the best care to meet their ever-evolving needs has been incomprehensibly difficult, exacerbated by the fact that I am located on the opposite coast, trying to manage care from thousands of miles away. Having placed our loved one in two different corporate structure communities prior to moving them to Hummingbird Retreat, I can honestly say, there is no comparison to the level of care, compassion and dignity that Meagan and her team provide. For the first time in this multi-year process, there is peace; I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that our loved one is fully safe and cared for. While corporate applications offer uniformity, in our experience, they lack personal touch, warmth and genuinely personalized care. In both commercial communities, our loved one was reasonably safe, but the care they received lacked attention to the importance of maintaining dignity through the aging process. At Hummingbird Retreat, the focus is absolutely on the whole human, on making sure that they are safe, clean, loved—and perhaps most importantly, going to great lengths so that everyone has the ability to continue to sparkle until the end of their days. I am not kidding when I say that our loved one is cared for the way I would personally care for them in my own home if I were able. The cost of care at Hummingbird Retreat is comparable to the corporate models (more than fair, in our opinion), but the added value of their personalized touch approach is priceless. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Meagan and the Hummingbird Retreat team.
Hummingbird Retreat is the very best run assisted living home I have ever seen. Meagan Paige is so dedicated to the care of her residents and always goes above and beyond to make sure each resident's needs are met. I have never seen a staff of caregivers who are always busy taking care of the residents and keeping the house immaculately clean. Hummingbird Retreat is truly exceptional. The homes are warm, clean, and beautifully maintained, and felt immediately welcoming. The staff is what really sets them apart—they’re compassionate, attentive, and go above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely cared for. Communication was excellent, and the team made every effort to keep us informed. The daily activities, meals, and overall atmosphere created comfort and community. I’m incredibly grateful for the care our family received. If you’re looking for a senior living home in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area where your loved one will be treated with kindness, professionalism, and dignity, I highly recommend Hummingbird Retreat.
