Moving to The Colonnade in Surprise was one of the best decisions my husband Dick and I have ever made! During our past 7 years here we haven't had to worry about finding a repair company to fix our broken AC, any yard maintenance around our casita, scheduling routine window washing, or even what to plan for dinner! All our needs are taken care of while we're pampered with top-notch and friendly staff and enriching lectures, events and physical activities galore. Oh, did I mention the wonderful and interesting residents we've met who also reside here and who have become our very special…

We have lived at the Colonnade for over nine (9) years and it's one of wisest decisions we ever made. We live in one of the villas and we love the community relations, especially the acceptance and friendliness of the residents. The landscaping is beautiful and well maintained. The actives are awsome and I especially enjoy the gym, card games and Life Enrichment events. The dining privileges are excellent; you never get a bad meal at the Colonnade. Last but not least, the Colonnade staff is excellent If you are considering moving to a life care community, The Colonnade is an excellent choice.…

Last but not least, the Colonnade staff is excellent If you are considering moving to a life care community, The Colonnade is an excellent choice. The most important consideration is that you don't wait to make the move so you don't have the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits offered.

I have been a resident at the Colonnade since January 2020. The Colonnade offers many activities and services that clearly assist a person moving through the aging process. At the time I moved in I was very involved in off campus activities and my on campus participation was light. As time has passed these six years, my off campus is slowing and I am enjoying taking advantage of the many events, activities and community with other residents just waiting for me. Activity and security are important items. Continuing to be active, not like it used to be and and being able to say, this is my…

Continuing to be active, not like it used to be and and being able to say, this is my home, provides peace of mind and comfort. This campus is beautiful. Actually resort like. It is a gated community. We know gates do not make us 100 percent secure but, added 24 hour security watch teams give us reason to be very comfortable. Finally, my apartment is my home with all the facilities I could ask for, kitchen, laundry and cleaning service. Dining provides 3 different venues for dinning, operated with care for resident needs and wishes. Management has a big job taking care of and satisfying 400 residents, but it is always making an effort to do so. It encourages resident communication and participation. The above is why the Colonnade deserves the highest rating I can give it. Alden

The Colonnade is a Continuing Care Community (CCC) in Surprise Arizona. As a CCC, seniors have choice of housing, dining, maintenance/housekeeping and social support for a lifetime without fear of becoming homeless or dependent on our children. We have independent living, assisted living and memory support directly on campus with rehab and nursing care across the street at our sister community Grandview Terrace. In addition to the many daily activities on our campus, The Colonnade is located adjacent to The Grand (previously called Sun City Grand) and Colonnade residents have privileges and access to all of The Grand's facilities including the four golf courses and many clubs. My wife and I have been here for ten years -- its a wonderful place to live. Bob and Barbara

Living at The Colonnade is definitely stress free living. What a wonderful way to enjoy our retirement years.

Liz and I moved into a Casita in The Colonnade in May 2025 and absolutely love it here. We look at this as a gift to us as well as to our children. They do not need to worry about us or having to sell our home or find us a place. We got to decide where we wanted to live and enjoy this chapter in our lives. The people here are great, the services are great and we not only get to enjoy all the amenities here in The Colonnade but also get access to all the amenities in The Grand. This is something people need to look into and before the decision has to be made for you by someone else.

Ten years ago when my husband and I moved into a Villa apartment at The Colonnade we were “young” and active and interested in continuing, even enhancing, the retirement lifestyle we had created for ourselves upon moving to Arizona. As time went by we often congratulated ourselves on having made a perfect decision to transition from The Grand to the Colonnade where we felt we had the best of both worlds. We continued to feel pampered by the staff of this resort style campus and loved the energizing mix of fellow residents who, like us, were interested in forming new friendships. And then, as must happen, he passed and I was left widowed after 62 years of togetherness. I cannot describe the support and caring I received from everyone: our administrators, spiritual life directors, nurses, life enrichment leaders and so many others on down through the ranks of service personnel. So many fellow residents offered gentle encouragement and invitations to rejoin community activities that I didn’t feel alone. Having all this right here without having to make difficult decisions concerning a home or a move has made managing my grief much easier than it might have been. Yes, the decision to make The Colonnade our home was smart, continues to be more than good and will continue to be a blessing as I face the challenges of aging.

We’ve been residents of The Colonnade for over 10 years. Everything we could possibly need or want is here. It’s like a college campus, beautiful! We made this move as a gift to our children. We’ve never looked back. Happiness is living at The Colonnade!
