my father is currently living at Carefree and I have peice of mind knowing that he is being well taken care of with kindness and compassion. The staff here are A++ and I couldnt be more happy that I found the perfect place for him to live out his last days. He also loves it there and the staff loves him as well.
My mother lived at Carefree Assisted living for a year or so. She was under Hospice Care at the time. She was bedridden and unable to transfer to a wheelchair. The staff at Carefree gave her excellent care and were very supportive of her. She passed away this March 4, 2023 in her sleep. I cleaned out her room in two days and donated many things of my mom's to the facility. I asked for a rent refund and that is where my dissatisfaction comes into play. I live in Minnesota and wasn't able to be in Arizona to monitor the return of my refund. I was told by the manager that they needed to confer…
I was told by the manager that they needed to confer with the bookkeeper and that I would hear back from them. I asked for the bookkeepers name & phone number but they couldn't or wouldn't supply it. I waited a couple of days as I had not heard anything and I left a message for Monique Joy, Manager, to please call me regarding my refund. She never returned my calls but had instructed her assistant manager Tara, to tell me she had mailed the check. It never arrived. I called again & later was told it was overnighted. It still didn't arrive. I have had to make multiple phone calls that rendered conflicting information from the Manager about my refund. My check which had been signed by Monique Joy finally arrived April 18, 2023. It was very stressful to me and I had just lost my mother. Monique Joy, Manager, of Carefree A.L. handled this incident in a very unprofessional manner. Be aware this is how they treat out of state family members!
The staff members at the community are very helpful, our loved one is getting very good care and everything that she needs help with gets done. They are also great with communication. They get to us immediately regarding updates with our loved one or covid.
Staff was nice and helpful. We are looking for a more modern upscale facility where dad would have his own bathroom and room for a dresser. Also felt like the current residents would not be an equal fit for my dads high activity level.
My Mother has Parkinson's, is on hospice, and has lived at Carefree for over a year. Her financial situation requires that she share a room with another resident. The rooms are very nice and clean. There is a wonderful walk-out atrium with greenery, flowers, and bird-feeders. The food is good, and they have many activities, and bring in some musical entertainment. I visit once or twice a week. This is my Mom's 3rd Assisted Living Residence in the Verde Valley, and she recently called it "home" - (this is a big deal, as she can be critical!) I believe that the caregiving staff, and owner involvement is what sets Carefree apart. This is a small facility with less staff turn-over than I have experienced elsewhere. The facility is adequately staffed, and caregivers are friendly and attentive to the residents. The owner is responsive, and his concern for the residents and staff is evident. I feel good when I visit - I look forward to seeing Mom, and the staff! I recommend Carefree, especially for those who need quite a bit of physical assistance. Thank you to everyone at Carefree - I know your job is difficult, and I am grateful to all of you.
Carefree Assisted Living Center was more expensive than what we're willing to pay. The buildings were nice and clean, and the people were nice and attentive. The people who live there looked well groomed. The rooms were clean and seemed decent. I would rate the staff member who accommodated me a 5.
We toured Carefree Assisted Living Center, and it was more like a home. Everybody we talked to loved it there. Everybody was kind but didn't communicate very well; trying to get an appointment and feedback from them on certain things was difficult. We're on a waiting list there, and trying to communicate, but they never called us back. Besides that, it was a great facility.
The first time I approached Carefree Assisted Living Center I was struck by the wonderful decorations at the entrance. So cheerful, colorful and fun! It felt like I was walking into someone's home, not into a senior care facility. Several years ago, both of my grand mothers were placed in assisted living centers. Neither of those facilities were as comfortable and welcoming as Carefree Assisted Living Center. I work with this facility as their bookkeeper and visit several times each month. Every time I come to the facility I find myself feeling like I am entering a happy home. The staff greet me with a smile and a happy attitude while attending to resident's needs. The garden and landscaping are meticulously cared for and the common areas, as well as the resident's rooms are well kept and clean. The television is usually on in the common area and the birds are chirping away in the background. I stop by at different times of the day but that makes no difference in anyone's attitude or the general welcoming atmosphere. As an outside observer of the facility, I am genuinely impressed with the true demonstration of caring love and compassion that the owners Gary & Lisa, give to the residents and their families as well as the staff and the business.
